Tony Curtis (Tony Curtis Kimdir? - Hakkında - Hayatı)
 

03 Haziran 1925 yılında New York’ta' Bernard Schwartz adıyla doğan Tony Curtis, Macar kökenli Yahudi bir ailenin oğluydu. 1943 yılında orduya katılan Curtis daha sonra drama okuluna gitti. 1948’de Universal Studios’tan teklif alınca ailesiyle Californiya’ya yerleşti. Oyunculuk hayatına 1949 yılında başladı.


'İlk filmlerinin ardından adını değiştiren Macar asıllı ünlü aktör ve ressam, 11 yıl boyunca ünlü aktrist Janet Leight ile evli kaldı. Çiftin kendileri gibi oyuncu olan Jamie Lee ve Kelly Curtis adında iki kızı oldu.


1949;da çevirdiği "Criss Cross" adlı filmle beyaz perdeye adım atan Curtis,' 1959'da ise Marilyn Monroe ve Jack Lemmon ile "Some Like It Hot" (Bazıları Sıcak Sever) adlı komedi filminde yer aldı. Bugün bile Hollywood'un en çok sevilen komedilerinden biri olarak kabul edilen filmde Tony Curtis ve Jack Lemmon kadın kılığındaydılar. 1958 yılında çekilen ve Sidney Poiter ile birlikte rol aldığı The Defiant Ones filmi ile En İyi Yardımcı Erkek Oyuncu dalında Oscar'a aday olmuştu.


Beyaz perdenin dev ismi Tony Curtis,' 29 Eylül 2010'da' hayata veda etti.
